Hello everyone.
These few weeks you may have noticed that the Main Page of the wiki has undergone quite few changes. Notably the addition of games, book and boardgame (with additional content).
Recently I have been pondering about further updating the main page with a menu which would be bellow the official Divinity content galleries.
The menu would consist of guides for the most basic mechanics of the games, bestiary for the lore that would serve as sort of orientation page and repository for lore that cannot be quite put into lore page respectively. Then link to Timeline page itself (not the History of Rivellon provided by Larian since it does not contain DOS2 and Godwoken comic content).
Then Official Divinity media which would cover all official Divinity websites. (Larian forms, Larian merch, Facebook, Twitter (aka X), official DOS2 website etc.) There is also possiblity of adding links (Wayback Machine) or atleast a note to already abandoned Divinity websites for games like Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity II: Ego Draconis.
And finally: Page that would cover both affiliated communities and creators who regularly and have atleast some history with Divinity content. Affiliation in this case as focused more or less Divinity (doesnt need to be Divinity exclusive). Partnership would be encouraged to further connect communities but not mandatory/forced.
The last part is where I would like to ask you about your opinion. Since this would involve posting links to pages of said creators (with their permission and possiblity to immediatelly remove said link or even the very mention of them at any point). Also note that for specific art, fanfic, meme etc. we have channels on the wiki Discord, where they can be features (and sourced).
In order to keep things in line with Fandom rules pornography, explicit content (heavy gore and so forth) would be prohibited as well as promoting unofficial merchandise. Creators who use AI programs exclusively would also not be allowed to be promoted. Do not take these rules as set in stone (especially the wording). Its merely my idea of how said page would be kept from being flooded with inappropriate content should it be released.
I am writing this because I feel that the wiki could use some space for both base mechanics (those familiar with older Divinity games know that Divinity doesnt just have turn-based combat system). And that Larian as much as we love them, kinda fails (atleats in my point of view) to highlight Divinity writers, artists, bloggers and more with the raise of Baldurs Gate 3 and Larians habbit of forgetting about old Divinity content and its fan creators.
However in order to make such changes, I need to know as much as possible from you Wiki readers and editors so that proper adjustments are made assuming you wish for such page to exist and be featured on the Main page of the wiki. And this goes for all the page ideas I drafted above, since the navigation menu is not endless and with the release of more Divinity content from Larian it will be harder to manage it there.
So again, please write here or on wiki Discord what you think about these ideas of mine or what would you wish to see featured since this may help not just you but also other future readers who may come into contact with Divinity series.
