A Murderer in Verdistis is a side quest in Divine Divinity.

Walkthrough[]
Kratus is having trouble with a murder spree in Verdistis, initially suspecting the Assassins Guild. The corpses were found sucked dry of blood, which doesn't fit the modus operandi of an assassination. Kratus has a second suspect: Pierce, since a witness saw an individual leaving his shop.
Head east to Pierce's Wine Barrel and speak to Pierce who claims to have been asleep the nights of the murders; to help clear his name he grants Lucian permission to search his shop. Head south then west to the cellar entrance, into the cellar proper. Against the northern wall are several stacked boxes; move these away to discover a coffin with the vampire Tutamun sleeping inside.
Speaking with Tutamun confirms Pierce's innocence: the vampire had used hypnosis to hide his presence from the shop owner. If he was encountered in Aleroth, he will also confirm to have been speaking to George (and to killing him if George's body was found after his murder). Deeming Lucian to be a threat, he will turn hostile and must be killed.
Once Tutamun is dead, return to Kratus to inform him of the true culprit and his death. This will improve Lucian's reputation with Kratus by 5.
