She is sent to Broken Valley by the Assassin's Guild to murder Buad, the alchemist, who lives in the water mill. He once accidentally killed an assassin by mixing the wrong herbs in his tea and now the Guild wants revenge.
Her grandmother, Penumbra, was the first assassin to begin hunting Buad.
