Apprentice and Adversary is a side quest given by Kenneth if you chose him as your Skill Trainer in Divinity II: Ego Draconis.

Detailed Walkthrough[]
Kenneth has asked you to check up on Saul. You must save Saul who has been imprisoned in a Dragon Slayer camp that is next to Champion Harbour in the Orobas Fjords. Saul was accused of a murder by Tilian, who framed him because of jealousy that Saul was receiving a promotion he wanted for himself. A short note written by Kenneth and found near Saul contains some background information.
Talking to Tilian will allow you to receive the quest Thorn in the Side, in which Tilian wants you to execute Saul for him. If you do decide to kill Saul you will fail this quest, causing you to not be able to learn the extra skills from Kenneth, and vice versa.
