Target character consumes blood surfaces around them, restoring Vitality. The more blood, the more they will be healed!
Skill description

Blood Sucker is a starter necromancer skill in Divinity: Original Sin II.

Description[]

Blood Sucker Skill[]

Blood Sucker is a supportive necromancer skill that allows caster to heal themselves, their ally or neutral character up to 13 meters from them, if there is a blood surface and blood clouds (both of any type) up to 3 meters from them. The amount of blood surface in reach of the chosen target character indicates how much of indicated Vitality will be restored when the surface is absorbed. Note that the skill heals a set amount of Vitality and not a certain percentage of Vitality. Following table shows how much health is restored if certain amount of blood surface or cloud is in the reach of a target character. Note that if both surface and cloud are present they will be both absorped and the amount of health restored will be increased as well.

Table of Vitality restored per reachable blood surface/cloud
Blood Quantity Restored Vitality (%)
1 meter 35
1,5 meter 70
2 meters 100

Since Blood Sucker relies on Necromancy magic it cannot be cast if character is affected by Silenced (Original Sin 2) Silenced status effect. Alongside this due to its reliance on Necromancy it will also restore Vitality of the Undead. However it will deal physical damage if target is afflicted by Decaying (Original Sin 2) Decaying status effect.

Blood Sucker Scroll (Original Sin 2) Scroll and Skillbook[]

Blood Sucker skillbook is a magical item that allows its reader to learn Blood Sucker skill, if they have at least 1 point into Necromancer ability, and use it indefinitely. In order to be able to cast the skill, character needs 1 free memory slot. Note that the book will disappear once read. The book weights 0.5 and its base value is 120 gold. A skillbook can be crafted if a Blood Sucker scroll is combined with a Blank Necromancy Skillbook. Since Blood Sucker is a starter Necromancer skill, it is available right from the start of the game. Traders selling Necromancer skillbooks will have this book for sale since the start of the game as well.

Blood Sucker scroll is a magical item that allows any character to cast Blood Sucker skill, regardless of skill prerequisites, but only once. The only limiting element in casting Blood Sucker this way is the amount of Action Point Icon (Original Sin 2) Action Points (AP) character has at their disposal in current turn. The scroll is craftable, weights 0.02 and has base value of 60 gold.

The cost of Action Points between Blood Sucker scroll and Blood Sucker skill remains the same. Both the scroll and the skill itself are affected by other skills, attributes and talents that may provide additional bonuses.

Necromancer Icon (Original Sin 2) Skill Modifiers[]

Blood Sucker is a supportive skill whose effects depend on the following characteristics of the caster:

  1. Level
  2. Hydrosophist
  3. Warfare - in case of the target being Undead
  4. Critical Damage Modifier - in case of the target being Undead

Out of these, Level provides the greatest boon. In case of healing itself the main factor is how many points caster has in Hydrosophist ability, however this also affects how much physical damage this skill deals to the Undead. Note that, since the skill causes physical damage to the Undead it is also affected by Warfare ability whose bonus stacks with that of Hydrosophist.

Blood Sucker properties can be affected by talents and other skills.
