Decaying is a status effect in Divinity: Original Sin II.

Description[]

Decaying is a negative environmental and skill status effect. Characters afflicted by it will receive damage from all source of healing except Necromancy. The effect takes place only if character does not have Physical armour above 0. The only exception to this rule are characters with Glass Cannon talent and characters that enter Paradise Downs, where Decay will be applied regardless of Physical armour values. In Paradise Downs Decay status can be dispelled only if Harbinger of Doom is defeated.

Cause[]

Decaying can be caused by both surface and skills. On Rivellon it is the contact with cursed blood surface and cursed water surface which can inflict decay upon a character. Other means of afflicting decay involve spells from Necromancer school or Scoundrel skills.
