Deodatus is the grand healer of Aleroth in 1300 AD.
Background[]
A powerful wizard, follower of Mardaneus and a good friend of Zandalor, Augustus, and Richard.
In his youth, Deodatus enjoyed goblin hunting alongside the young Champion, Richard. He is also known as the town eccentric for unknown reasons and is rumoured to be rich enough to own two pairs of shoes.[1]
It was he who found the shield Maxos used to protect himself in Hall of Echoes and feeling its great power hid it in another dimension for safekeeping. When Dragon Knight was on quest to defeat Damian he was approached by Zandalor and recovered the shield once more. Unfortunately this caused multiple rifts to open which flooded Aleroth with undead and demon spawn.
Deodatus is first encountered within Aleroth's Ministry in the Great Market district during the assault. He, along with Zandalor, will then aid the Dragon Knight to seal the demonic portals within the Ministry.
He and the rest of Aleroth's mages then aid Zandalor in creating and maintaining the barrier which holds the Black Ring forces at bay.

In Dragon Knight Saga version he sells equipment, including several unique items:
- Aleroth Archmage Cuirass (cuirass, part of the Aleroth Archmage armor set)
- Blade of Hypnerotomachia (one-handed sword)
- Lion's Mane (shield)
- Necklace of Eleanalessa (necklace)
- Stardust (ring)
- In the original release of Ego Draconis, if Deodatus was mindread he sold all of the ultimate quality formulas.
