Earth Root can be harvested from plants, and is sometimes sold by merchants, found as random loot, or received as a quest reward. Later in the game, it can also be easily obtained by assigning Harry, one of the runners at the Battle Tower to collect it.

- Earth Root may have once been called 'Desert Root' during development, as Mindreading Sam, a merchant on Sentinel Island, reveals that he wants some 'Desert Root' for tea, and after this you have the option to give him some Earth Root to get him to lower his prices (or Rotten Earth Root to do the opposite). This may also simply be an oversight in the dialogue, rather than an indicator that Earth Root was once called Desert Root.
