The Pavilion of Life / Pavilion of Death is an unmarked side quest than can be obtained in Luculla Forest.

Pavilion of Death[]

In Luculla Forest you can find the Pavilion of Death at coordinates (x:161 y:55).

Walkthrough[]

  1. Leave Silverglen through the south east entrance, than head to the south and cross the little river to the south west. You will find a pavilion on a small hill.
  2. Interact with the pavilion and make a choice for how you want to die:
    • Die slowly:
      • several pulsing midnight oil traps appear, some fireballs start slowly falling from the sky and one pulsing lava trap appears in front of the big rock you passed on the path up to the pavilion. A switch will appear at that rock.
    • Option "die quickly"
      • Many fireballs quickly fall from the sky and one pulsing lava trap appears in front of the big rock you passed on the path up to the pavilion. A switch will appear at that rock.
  3. The traps/fireballs will remain active until you run down the path or use the switch which appears at the rock (x:144 y:65) behind the pavilion, halfway up to the top of the small hill.
    • Hint: Unless your character is able to walk over lava, you need to wait in front of the lava surface until it shortly vanishes before you use the switch. Otherwise you will die in the lava.
  4. A chest will appear after using the switch.

Pavilion of Life[]

In Luculla Forest, you can find the Pavilion of Life at coordinates (x:220 y:374)

Walkthrough[]

  1. Interact with the Pavilion of Life which asks you if you wish to live. Picking "No" results in an instant death.
  2. Make a choice for how you want to live:
    • Quickly: A Wildfire skillbook is placed in your inventory.
    • Slowly: A Midnight Oil skillbook is placed in your inventory.

Flavor Text[]

Pavilion of Life: "Where there is weakness, the Void plagues; where there is will, Life springs. Tell me, traveller, do you wish to live?"

  • "I wish to live, yes."
    • Pavilion of Life: "And how do you wish to live? A life of long hours, spent slowly, savoring? Or do you prefer a rapid life; a life of chaos and wild nights?"
      • "I wish to live slowly."
      • "I wish to live quickly."
  • "No, I do not wish to live."
    • Pavilion of Life says "May the Void overtake such a Master of Nothing." and then kills the character speaking to it.
