Maria is looking for revenge. She was before wealthy, but Malcolm, secretary of merchants guild ruined her and her family's life. She has plan of showing proof of Malcolm's threachery to Trevor.
After talking with Maria, head to Malcolm's house and find Merchants Guild's Financial Records on top of closet at back room. Show this book to Trevor, who'll kick Malcolm out of guild. You can also show it to Malcolm, but it doesn't affect outcome.
