Status Effects are various reactions of characters influenced by environmental, skill or special effects which last certain amount of time in Divinity: Original Sin II.

Environmental status effects[]

Environmental status effects are applied whenever character steps upon specific surface or cloud. These effects are applied immediatelly upon making contact. They can be bypassed or negated with certain skills, opposing elemental influence or certain characteristics of affected character such as immunity. When character is outside of said surface, the effect will wear of under normal circumstances around 2 turns.

Elemental status effects are under normal circumstances automatically resisted by having corresponding armour values above 0. Note that if character has Glass Canon talent then these statuses will apply even if character has both Magic and Physical armour above 0. Status effects will also be applied if character ends up in specific location or around specific character, regardless of armour values.
