Strength is a core attribute throughout the Divinity series. It affects multiple facets of the character, from their damage with weapons to their carry weight.

Divine Divinity[]

Strength affects how much you can carry, what items you can equip and how much damage you do in melee combat.
In-game description
Points Description
1-24 Frail old ladies beat you at arm-wrestling and you would have trouble lifting a weapon, let alone fighting with it. Don't try to be a warrior.
25-49 You are distinctly below par in the muscle league. You will need to rely on brains over brawn
50-74 You are slightly above the average humans's strength. You may just get by as a warrior, but it will be a risky career choise.
75-100 You are well above average human strength. Years of muscle training have made you excellent warrior material.
100 and more Your muscular strength is almost unbelievable. Rumours abound around your home villtage that your mother must have slept with an incarnate God... or a demon.

Divinity II[]

Determines the damage you do in melee attacks, your resistance to melee attacks and influences both Conditioned Body and your hitpoints regeneration rate.
In-game description

For each point invested in Strength the Dragon Knight receives: + 1 % to Melee Damage, + 1 % to Conditioned Body and + 0.55 points into Melee Resistance. The bonus applied by Strength to Melee Resistance stat only starts at 0.55 (at level 1) and gradually lowers itself by 0.01 for each point invested. The decrease temporarily stops around every 10th point invested. This means that bonus gained by putting 10th and 11th point remains the same.

For every 2 points invested in Strength the Hitpoints regeneration rate increases by 0.01% per second. The values for each affected stat (without armor and weapon bonuses) at level 1 are:

  • Melee Damage: 100%
  • Melee Resistance: 0.55
  • Conditioned Body: 1%
  • Hitpoint regeneration: 0.31% per second
Example

At 10 points in Strength the bonus for each point is only 0.5, at 20 points invested its only 0.45 boost to Melee Resistance.

Original Sin II[]

The Strength stat determines how much physical damage you do when attacking with weapons that use Strength as their damage modifier and provides a bonus to Physical Armour. Damage is modified at 5% increase per point and 2% Physical Armor per point. Strength will also allow you to carry more items in your pack.
